How to Play

Tap adjacent tiles to form a word (minimum 3 letters). Adjacent means any of the 8 tiles touching yours — cardinal or diagonal.
Tap a tile again to un-select it. Tap Clear to start over.
Submit valid words for points — longer + rarer words score exponentially more.
🔥 Burning tiles drop one row every word. If one reaches the bottom, game over. Use them in a word to defuse.
Score enough to level up. Higher levels spawn burning tiles faster and unlock harder side quests.
Side Quests: complete a quest to earn a power. Tap Activate when ready. A new quest appears only after you use the power.

🌙 Dark theme

Same as the theme toggle in the main-page footer — dark mode for the whole app, not just Bookworm.

🇮🇹 Italian bonus — 2× points

Words that appear in the Italian dictionary (240k entries) score double. Italian-only words (like ciao, bella, parola) become playable. Downloads ~580KB the first time you enable it.

Qu Q → QU combined tile

Every Q that spawns will be a QU tile — the Q and U are joined on one tile (Scrabble-style). Words like QUIET or QUICK only need one tile placement for the QU. Scores Q+U = 11 points. Only affects tiles spawned after enabling — existing Q tiles stay as-is until they're used.

Sound effects

Word-submit, level-up, and burning-tile sounds. Turn off for a silent game.

Dyslexic-friendly font

Renders every letter in OpenDyslexic across the whole app (tiles, menus, news, books). Same toggle as the main page — flip it here and it sticks everywhere.
